The X.Org Developer’s Conference (XDC) 2026 is about to happen next week at the Daniels Spectrum cultural hub in Toronto, Canada. We’re looking forward to three days of exciting talks and discussions around open graphics technologies such as the Linux kernel, Mesa, DRM, and Wayland.

This year, Igalians have nine talks lined up.

Day 1:

• “LLM inference on the Raspberry Pi 5 via Vulkan” by José María Casanova (September 28, 11:20) — Chema will walk through the V3DV driver changes that were required to do LLM inference and compute-heavy workloads on the RPi5.
• “Firefox + Steam Deck: Seamless experience across two compositors” by Eri Pazos (September 28, 16:00) — Find out about our ongoing and efforts to transition Firefox to use Wayland natively under KWin and Gamescope.
• “Vulkan CTS uses too much system memory? No problem” by Ricardo Garcia (September 28, 16:50) — Ricardo will discuss the challenge of detecting high memory usage by the massive Vulkan Conformance Test Suit and how he reduced the memory footprint significantly.
• “Turning Driver Bugs into Vulkan CTS Tests” by Madeeha Javed (September 28, 16:55) — This talk will cover practical lessons learned from contributing bug-fix regression tests to Vulkan CTS.

Day 2:

• “Turnip without Root” by Lucas Fryzek (September 29, 15:15) — Lucas will give a crash course for anyone interested in getting involved in Turnip’s development on Android.
• “Last Year of Turnip” by Lucas Fryzek and Karmjit Mahil (September 29, 16:00) — This is an overview of the cool new features in Turnip to run real games on multiple generations of Adreno devices.
• etnaviv: good things take time” by Christian Gmeiner (September 29, 16:50) — Summary of the latest and greatest on the Etnaviv driver by Christian himself.
• “v3d/v3dv: status update from last XDC” by Juan Antonio Suárez (September 29, 16:55) — A high-level tour of the latest updates to V3D and V3DV drivers including new extensions, features and performance improvements.

Day 3:

• “Testing a browser across Wayland compositors” by Arkajyoti (Orko) Garai (September 30, 16:40) — Orko will provide a summary of the challenges in testing a browser on a real Wayland compositor and why it’s important to standardize cross-compositor application testing.
