Master on Free Software

Master on Free Software is a specialization course designed to fulfill the high demand for free software professionals inside the IT sector.

The program has an extremely technical and practical focus. It is oriented to new graduates and IT professionals wishing to improve their abilities to manage, analyze and collaborate to international free software projects.

The Master combines academic and corporate vision. The teaching team includes Igalia, which works directly within the international GNOME community, and the research group GSyC/Libresoft of Universidad Rey Juan Carlos (URJC), well known in the free software research community for their participation in numerous European R&D projects. Keynote speeches from prominent people in the free software movement will conclude each module.

The program has 5 modules:

  • Introduction to Free Software
  • Dynamics of Free Software Communities
  • Administration and Systems Integration with Free Software
  • Desktop & Mobile Free Software Development
  • Free Software Development for the Web

After the success of the September open sessions of the Master on Libre Software in A Coruña and recent requests, Igalia has decided to explore the possibility of holding sessions in Vigo.
