"Hacking on all open source browsers"

Igalia is thrilled to organize and host the Web Engines Hackfest 2017 this coming week!

The event will take place at Igalia's premises in Coruña, Spain, during October 2-4, and we are expecting to host over 60 hackers from 15 different organizations. The hackfest has an unconference format where attendees are free to propose any topic that interests them. Small focused teams are then created around the topics for more discussion and hacking.

The Web Engines Hackfest originated back in 2009 when it was still known as the WebKitGTK+ Hackfest. As more and more people became interested in our event and in other open source web engines, we have renamed the event to Web Engines Hackfest. Browser developers from various industries gather together to discuss and hack on any of the open source browser projects: WebKit/JSC, Chromium/Blink/V8, Firefox/SpiderMonkey and Gecko/Servo.

We are very proud of our role in organizing, sponsoring and hosting the event for the last eight years.
