The LinuxCon Europe conference is being held in Barcelona November 5th - 7th. In addition to being a sponsor, Igalia will be attending the event and presenting our most recent work.

This year some of our colleagues will be attending LinuxCon Europe, which will be held in Barcelona from November 5th to 7th. The conference is organized by the Linux Foundation, of which Igalia is a proud member. The event attracts GNU/Linux developers, systems administrators, experts and other professionals from all over the world to discuss the entire GNU/Linux stack and present the latest advances to the community.

In addition to being one of the sponsors, Igalia will have a booth there, and we will give two talks during the event. The talks are related to our work in the areas of systems and multimedia development:

  • On Monday 5th, Alberto García will present a talk entitled Developing and Testing Industrial Hardware With QEMU. He will explain how using emulation of difficult-to-access hardware can improve the development of kernel drivers, improving their robustness before they are used in production environments.
  • On Tuesday 6th, Juan Suárez will target multimedia application developers in a talk entitled Grilo: Easy Access to Online Multimedia Content. He will introduce the framework and explain how to use and extend it to access remote and local multimedia content.

If you are attending LinuxCon Europe, or will be in Barcelona at the beginning of November, and want to know more about Igalia let us know. And be sure to stop by our booth and say “hello” during the event.
