At Igalia, we are looking for a browser developer to join our Chromium team. Our developers have the opportunity to contribute directly to the upstream open-source projects, collaborating with maintainers and benefiting the community as a whole.
Chromium is a complex and cross-platform piece of code, written mostly in C++, so, being able to write efficient, maintainable and portable system code is something we value positively for this position. Perhaps most importantly, good communication skills are essential. We often communicate with clients and also must interact with the rest of our geographically distributed company. In tandem with communication skills, we are also looking for people ready to iterate constructively during code reviews. While not essential, prior experience working on browser engines (WebKit, Servo, Gecko, or related software) can also be useful.
One of the core principles of Igalia is equality, so we feel a deep and continual obligation to acknowledge and counter the structural discrimination that permeates our industry and our world. In a practical sense this means that we maintain a permanent diversity commission that helps to shape company policy and that we always try to hold ourselves accountable to our internal code of conduct. We also feel that one of the best ways to accomplish these goals is to grow and maintain the diversity of Igalia itself. We welcome applicants regardless of their age, disability, gender, race, marital status, religion, sexual orientation or whatever type of systemic discrimination that they have faced.
