"Today we open the call for proposals"

For the past five years, Igalia has joined with browser vendors to work on the annual Interop project. Together, we’ve helped to promote greater browser interoperability by working to jointly prioritize an achievable set of goals.

Each year, the process begins with a call for proposals, asking the larger web development community what features they want to see included in the next year’s Interop project. For 2026, that call begins today and lasts through September 24, 2025. The submission form is open to one and all. For insight into how proposals will ultimately be chosen, see the Interop 2026 proposal selection process.

Prioritization is difficult, and if past years are any inidcation, the needs of the web platform are far bigger than we can achieve. However, thanks to suggestions from the community other and signals such as developer surveys, each Interop has achieved quite a lot.

Please, submit your web platform pain points for this year’s Interop. You can also help by liking and commenting on the submissions of others. To widen the scope even further, discuss and boost signals through public discussions on social media, blogs, and anywhere else.

In the end, this is about all of us. We at Igalia and the Interop team are listening and looking forward to your thoughts!
