May Conference News
It’s May, and as is common for this time of year, Igalians will be present for a few conferences and talks, both at home and abroad. Be sure to say hello if you spot us at any of the following events!
The lead story this month is that Igalia will be hosting the 108th plenary meeting of TC39 in A Coruña, Galicia, Spain, at the end of the month (May 28–30). Topics to be discussed will include an open discussion of ECMA’s framework for Technical Committees (TCs) and a normative change to error timings. Workshop topics will include polyhedral models, the Gleam language, and more.
Rewinding to the beginning of the month, the RDK Tech Summit (May 6–7, London, UK) will have a talk on “Advancements in WPE Graphics Architecture, Performance & Roadmap” by Miguel Gómez, who will be co-presenting with Özgür Deveci from Comcast. The following week, Luke Lau and Alex Bradbury will present “Improvements to RISC-V Vector code generation in LLVM” at RISC-V Summit Europe (May 12–15, Paris, France).
We’re proud to be a supporter of Embedded Recipes (May 14–16, Nice, France), and even more proud that Olivier Tilloy will present “SteamOS and its impact on the Linux Ecosystem”, while Martín Abente Lahaye will present a lightning talk titled “Yocto’s hidden gem: OTA and seamless updates with systemd-sysupdate”. Immediately after Embedded Recipes, the GStreamer Spring Hackfest 2025 (May 16–18, Nice, France) will be held, and we’ll be in attendance there as well.
We always enjoy talking with people, so if you ever find yourself at an event we’re at, please take a moment to flag us down and say hi! And if you have any questions regarding any of our talks, are interested in having an Igalian bring a talk to an upcoming event, or you’d just like to learn more about Igalia, please feel free to reach out.
