"Igalia's Vulkan Driver has achieved 1.0 Conformance"

We are proud of the work that we have been able to accomplish this year in graphics. In January we announced that our work in collaboration with the Raspberry Pi Foundation had helped the Raspberry Pi 4 reach OpenGL ES 3.1 conformance, and that we had begun work on an open source Vulkan driver (v3dv), demonstrating a first triangle. In less than a year, our graphics team has made regular and impressive gains.

Last month we were able to announce that the v3dv Vulkan driver was merged upstream and thus had become part of the official Mesa drivers. This month, we can go a step further and say that Igalia is pleased to announce that the v3dv Vulkan driver has achieved full Vulkan 1.0 conformance with the Kronos Group, passing the over 100,000 tests in the official Conformance Test Suite (CTS).

Our team is happy to celebrate this milestone with another guest post on raspberrypi.org, and we’re looking forward to continuing our work to improve performance and expand the Vulkan feature set!
