"Accessible Rich Internet Applications 1.2 suite has been published"

Joanmarie Diggs, co-chair of the Accessible Rich Internet Applications (ARIA) Working Group, has just announced the publication of First Public Working Drafts of Accessible Rich Internet Applications (WAI-ARIA) 1.2, Core Accessibility API Mappings (Core-AAM) 1.2, and WAI-ARIA Authoring Practices 1.2. This work marks the beginning of ARIA 1.2, which will focus on achieving role parity with HTML 5.

The group also published an update of WAI-ARIA Authoring Practices 1.1 to improve its support for ARIA 1.1.

More information about ARIA 1.2 and the Working Group's plans can be found at the blog post.
