We are excited to announce that we have joined the Khronos Group. Khronos is a non-profit, member-funded consortium dedicated to the creation of royalty-free open standards for graphics, parallel computing, vision processing, and dynamic media on a wide variety of platforms from the desktop to embedded and safety critical devices. Khronos APIs are key technologies in their respective markets, such as Vulkan and OpenGL in graphics and gaming, WebGL in 3D web graphics, and OpenVX and OpenCL in embedded vision and compute.

Igalia has been actively involved in the development of the Linux graphics stack for many years, most recently with our contributions to Mesa 3D, the open source implementation of the OpenGL specification, and the Intel Linux GPU driver, where we have been involved in the implementation of various OpenGL core specifications such as ARB_gpu_shader5, ARB_shader_storage_buffer_object, ARB_internalformat_query2, ARB_gpu_shader_fp64, ARB_vertex_attrib_64bit  and more. By joining the Khronos Group Igalia will now also have the opportunity to be more actively engaged in shaping the next generation cross-platform graphics and compute APIs that will leverage the software of tomorrow.
