Desktop & Mobile
Since 2001, Igalia has been involved in the open source desktop. This includes contributions to some of the more relevant components of GNOME and Freedesktop.org, the creation of new projects and modules, and an increasing relevance in projects like WebKit or GStreamer. The company has also teams with experience in Qt and the Linux kernel.
During the last 5 years, we have applied our previous open source and desktop experience to derived mobile platforms like Maemo, Moblin, MeeGo, LiMo and Sugar.
We are contributors and maintainers for several upstream modules and are recognized as a key participant in several open source communities, offering a unique combination of all this with a professional and committed way of working with strict goals and deadlines.
As a consultancy company, Igalia offers professionalism and knowledge of upstream processes to help companies building desktop&mobile platforms and products. We apply our experience working at platform and middleware level; doing hardware integration and performance optimizations; and creating applications, for main hardware and device manufacturers, operators, start-ups and many other relevant international companies.
