"LibreOffice benefits from another contributor and the Document Foundation welcomes the addition of..."

The Document Foundation is a charitable foundation which spreads the adoption of open document formats and standards and promotes the creation of localized Free and Open Source software office tools through a transparent peer- reviewed process. Specifically, it is the home of the LibreOffice project, the world's leading Free software office suite.

For some time, Igalia has been working in the evolution of LibreOffice, focusing in different areas like migrating certain components from Java. Now, it is also joining the list of supporters of the Document Foundation.

Michael Meeks, member of the Board of Directors and LibreOffice developer expressed his appreciation by the involvement in the project: "We are really happy to receive the support and contribution of a well-known and competent Free software company like Igalia. It demonstrates the relevance of LibreOffice and improves the product for everyone."
