Everything is ready for the Igalian expedition's arrival to Berlin this weekend for the Desktop Summit 2011. As in other years many Igalians are travelling to the event and giving talks and BoFs. Look for Igalians at the following sessions:

Martin Robinson and Alejandro G. Castro, two of our WebKit/WebKitGtk guys will join Gustavo Noronha Silva in a two-part talk titled: WebKit Clutter Port Present and Future; WebKitGtk Status and Roadmap to WebKit2. It will take place on Saturday the 6th at 14:00.

Alejandro Piñeiro (aka API) will conduct a talk called GNOME 3.0 Accessibility: State of the Union, in which he will talk about the current status and future of Accessibility in GNOME. This will also happen on Saturday the 6th at 14:00.

Xan López together with fellow GNOME hacker Fer Herrera, will deliver once again their so-called crazy talk about the State of the Union in GNOME where they will discuss the state of the GNOME project from an alternative viewpoint. The talk will be delivered Saturday the 6th at 14:40.

To support his plans "to bring all the web hype to our desktops," Xan will also deliver a talk on Blending the Web and the Desktop, explaining how to build applications with web technologies that will play well with the GNOME platform. You will have to take it easy the night before if you are interested, as this one starts at 9:00 on Sunday the 7th.

Also Philippe Normand will deliver a short 3-minute talk in the Lightning Talks session on Sunday at 14:00. He will be talking about the Integration of Web media look up in the GNOME Shell with Grilo.

Besides talks, a few Igalians will be involved in BoFs and Workshops:

Guillaume Emont (who also will be taking part in the GObject Introspection Hackfest) and Juan A. Suarez, will host a training session about Developing Applications with Grilo, that will take place on Wednesday the 10th at 9:00.

Alejandro Piñeiro will also be co-hosting a BoF about Accessibility on Wednesday the 10th at 10:00.

Alexandre Mazari will be co-hosting a BoF titled Widgets Toolkits are so 2k... Build your Gnome application UI using Web Technologies, on Friday 12th at 10:00.

Apart from talks and BoFs, you can also find Igalians in parties trying to catch up with old friends. Be sure to say "Hello" to Adrián Pérez, Claudio Saavedra, Carlos García Campos, Andy Wingo, Felipe Erias, Xabier Rodriguez, Joaquim Rocha, Alberto García, Eduardo Lima and Juan José Sanchez.

We definitely enjoy these events and are excited to attend and help as much as we can. As we stated a few weeks ago, Igalia is sponsoring the event, and we are also inviting to some drinks at the pre-registration event on Friday 5th. Remember to drink wisely!
