Igalia's culture is about more than Free Software and a warm, humane working environment; it's about making the world better, one step at a time, starting locally. Igalia has recently bought several bikes, to increase the mobility and decrease the environmental footprint of Igalia employees in Coruña - and to increase the joy of people working at Igalia. 

In 2014, Igalia also continued its tradition of donating to several NGOs at the end of the year. The 2014 NGOs receiving Igalia donations were UNICEF, Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders), Oxfam Intermón, Engineering Without Borders (EWB), the Software Freedom Conservancy, the Spanish Cancer Society (AECC), WWF/España, and EXando una mano. These NGOs represent a full range, from internationally-known names, to a new regional charity that does 3D printing of prosthetics for children with Poland Syndrome and related problems (EXando una mano). Each employee chooses how their portion of the funds to donate is allocated between the NGOs, encouraging active thought about where to donate.
