GstSysLink
GstSysLink is an open source project which aim is to deliver a user-space library that enables third-party developers to access the accelerated multimedia hardware components provided by the SysLink kernel service on the OMAP4 hardware platform.
The OMAP4 platform is based on the concept of Asymmetric Multi-Processing (AMP), where parallel processing is handled by multiple independent cores, each one running its own operating system.
By providing a simple, light and straight forward user-space library to access these services, GStSysLink attempts to enhance the developer experience and deliver better performance than the alternatives provided by Texas Instruments at the moment.
Another target of this project is to implement GStreamer elements using this library, allowing GStreamer based applications to make the most of the OMAP4 hardware platform, hopefully delivering better overall performance.
