After its successful first edition, II Guademy tried to consolidate the cooperation between projects for both desktops, GNOME and KDE.
Held in Valencia (Spain) during April 26th and 27th weekend, Guademy 2008 had a very pragmatic approach, with workgroups and forums which let developers debate and take decisions on the convergence of the main subsystems of both desktops.
Igalia sponsored the event and several of its hackers went to Valencia to talk and share visions about the future of free software desktop technologies. Specifically, Igalia hacker Javier Fernández took part in the discussion group about the future of Free Software graphical toolkits.
Sponsoring and collaborating with Guademy, Igalia continues to support free software technologies for the desktop and mobile devices such as GNOME and KDE.
