"A look back to last GUADEC celebrated from 26th July to 1st August in Coruña, Spain."

Summer is normally a part of the year in which things slow down a bit for everyone. But in Igalia and the GNOME community last weeks have been crazily busy and for a few good reasons!

GUADEC, the GNOME Users And Developers' European Conference has been hosted in Coruña this year, from 26th of July to 1st of August. Coruña is the home of many Igalians and the city where we have our main headquarters, a city we both know and love.

The venue was the Faculty of Computer Science (FIC) in the Elviña Campus of the Universidade da Coruña. FIC has a reputation for supporting open source through their history and also a good part of us studied there.

The event was organised and sponsored by local LUGs and associations that maintain tight links with Igalia (among many other entities) and we are proud and happy that we had the chance to celebrate GUADEC here.

Igalia participated in the event in different ways. We were silver sponsors (as usual), we helped the organisation and we also presented the following talks:

We also coordinated 4 BOFs (a11y, GNOME OS, WebKit and Grilo) and hosted a UX hackfest in our offices before the conference. We installed a booth next to the info desk where we had some merchandising and showed our interactivity demos.

From Igalia we want to thank all the sponsors, the organisation, volunteers and the whole GNOME community for all their work and for allowing us to be part of a great event one more year. See you next year!
